Blessings on the hand of women!
\nAngels guard its strength and grace,
\nIn the palace, cottage, hovel,
\nOh, no matter where the place;
\nWould that never storms assailed it,
\nRainbows ever gently curled;
\nFor the hand that rocks the cradle<\/strong>
\n Is the hand that rules the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Infancy’s the tender fountain,
\nPower may with beauty flow,
\nMother’s first to guide the streamlets,
\nFrom them souls unresting grow\u2014
\nGrow on for the good or evil,
\nSunshine streamed or evil hurled;
\nFor the hand that rocks the cradle<\/strong>
\n Is the hand that rules the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Woman, how divine your mission
\nHere upon our natal sod!
\nKeep, oh, keep the young heart open
\nAlways to the breath of God!
\nAll true trophies of the ages
\nAre from mother-love impearled;
