My Grandma\u2019s spectacles are queer
\nIt\u2019s almost like a game,
\nShe says she has two pair of them,
\nAlthough they look the same.<\/p>\n

One pair makes tiny thngs seem big,
\n\u201cEnlarged,\u201d she says it\u2019s called;
\nThe other makes big things seem small\u00ad\u2014
\nI s\u2019pose they are \u201censmalled\u201d.<\/p>\n

I never see her change them,
\nBut she always seem to know
\nJust when to see things pretty small
\nAnd when to make \u2018em grow!<\/p>\n

Some days folks think I\u2019m \u2018quisitive
\nAnd bother \u2018round a lot;
\nHer specs just twinkle as she \u2018splains
\n\u201cShe\u2019s such a little tot!\u201d<\/p>\n

But when she gives me gingerbread
\nOr cookies or a treat,
\nShe says, \u201cA great big girl like you
\nNeeds lots and lots to eat.\u201d<\/p>\n

I saved some choc\u2019lates for her once\u2014
\nSome teeny little ones\u2014
\nShe said I was \u201can angel\u201d an\u2019
\nThey looked \u201cas big as buns\u201d!<\/p>\n

But when I dropped my mug,
\nAnd made a big spot on the mat
\nShe said, \u201cIt won\u2019t be seen at all,
\nA little thing like that!\u201d<\/p>\n

I\u2019m saving all my pennies
\nAnd I\u2019m going to buy two pairs
\nOf spectacles for father\u00ad\u2014
\nThe kind that Grandma wears.<\/p>\n
